Our team

The GRIC – Group of Construction Research and Innovation is a research group recognized and funded by AGAUR since 2005 and continuing to the present (2021 SGR 00341). It is composed of professors and researchers from the School of Industrial, Aerospace, and Audiovisual Engineering of Terrassa (ESEIAAT) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). The main objective of GRIC is to contribute to the transition of urban systems towards sustainability, focusing on buildings and the built environment as essential elements to achieve the European Union's decarbonization goals.

The principal investigator of the project is Dr.  Miquel Casals, Full Professor and coordinator of GRIC. His research focuses on the energy efficiency of buildings and infrastructures. He has extensive research experience, including the coordination of several European and national projects (ORCID: 0000-0001-5379-894X)
